1) What is the theme of your poem?

My latest series of poems are based on powerful little moments and observations we make, but very rarely talk about, diving deep into a moment or feeling to give it the attention it deserves.

2) How would you like people to respond when they read or watch your poetry reading?

If for just one moment the words help someone else in their daily chaos feel happier, calmer or slightly more connected, I’d be over the moon.

3) How long have you been writing poetry?

A few years now.

4) Do you have a favorite poet?

So many to choose from, Rumi reigns high for me, also loving all the new poets coming through now too, their raw takes on human relationships and the way we connect are amazing. I also get inspired by singer/songwriters – the singing poets of the world – it amazes me how words sung well, with emotion, can get in so deep, millions of people playing it over and over again as they take on the feeling/story as their own. So powerful.

5) What influenced you to submit to WILDsound and have your poetry performed by a professional actor?

Curiosity. I write a lot but hardly ever read them out loud. I love watching someone read a poem, taking it into their mind and connecting it to something they are going through personally. I have great admiration for the spoken poets out there – and was very curious to see how the words connect/felt through have one of my poems read out loud.

6) Do you write other works? Scripts? Short Stories? Etc..?

Yes, I’ve have written short stories, currently working on a book too. The book is based on being a young widow, a non-fiction book on my own experiences, the raw moments no one prepares you for, a few magical encounters along the way and a series of poetry to help anyone else going through the grief process.

7) What is your passion in life?

Connecting the right words in the right places, words are so powerful, they can change your mood, your day and your life.
