What is your story about?

Dumdie Swartz knows ghosts walk among us. Misty people have scared her since she was a little kid. Dumdie does her best to avoid them–harmless and dangerous, alike–even though she annoys her family when she does. Now, with her unwanted ability growing stronger, the demon possessing a boy bullying her notices her special talents and decides it wants posses her.

2. Why should people know about yourself and your story?

My story shows how difficult it is for a high-level autistic child to function in a normal world — even without a special gift.

3. How long have you been writing stories?

I’ve been writing since the sixth grade, but have only published some of my stories in the last couple years.

4. What movie have you seen the most in your life?

Probably the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

5. Who would you like to collaborate with on a creative project?

It wouldn’t work. I write too slowly for anyone to have the patience.

6. How many stories/screenplays have you written?

I don’t know how many I’ve written, but I’ve published 9 estories.

7. What motivated you to write this story?

Curiosity about how Dumdie coped with seeing ghosts as a child. This is sort of a prequel to my estory, The Ghost in the Closet

8. Describe your process; do you have a set routine, method for writing?

I try to write in the mornings, but something always interferes with my intentions.

9. Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?

Negative or positive. Too cynical to be positive. I really get tired about how sheeplike humans are.

10. What influenced you to have your story made into a video pitch?

Marketing.

11. Any advice or tips you’d like to pass on to other writers?

Keep on writing even though you think you aren’t going anywhere. The revising is always more important than the drafting.
