Logline: Time. It’s the most valuable and irreplaceable gift a human can have. Of course not everyone has it but everybody craves it. Time will eventually run out and you’ll think about everything you wish you could’ve done when you had it. Yes, I’m talking about that one crush you had in high school but were too scared to ask out. You recently found out they got married and realized that could’ve been you, if only you had taken the time to say a simple “hello, how’s your day been?” Yes, I’m talking about that last phone call your mother gave you but you “didn’t have time” to pick up, only to find out she was going to die the next day. If only you had taken a few seconds out of your “busy day” to tell her you love her, maybe you wouldn’t feel so guilty.

Yes, I am also talking about how every time your job asks you to take an extra shift, you take it. You come home to find the nanny tell you your baby took his first steps. A few years go by and the same nanny tells you, your baby, not so little now, scored his first goal but of course you don’t ever have “time” to spend with your child because you’re working. How much time is it going to take for you to realize what’s more important? Time is a precious gift not everyone gets to have. If you ask anyone who’s on their death bed what they would change in their life if they could, their sentence would start off with “I wish I had taken the time to…”

There’s 24 hours in a day, 168 hours a week, so don’t dare to ever say you “just don’t have time.” People will always find a way to make time for things they actually want to do. So next time you see the girl or boy you like but are too scared to ask out, just do it. You’d be surprised to find out they’ve been waiting for you. Next time your parents call, drop what you’re doing and answer the phone. Sometimes we forget our parents are also aging and you never know when their time with you will run out. Always make time for your loved ones. If you’re blessed to be on this earth healthy and well, don’t ever waste a single second of it because not everyone is as lucky as you. Time is a precious gift and I don’t intend on wasting it.
