Eyes followed,
tired eyes followed
And I followed
Tired, I followed
And it teased
Sprinkling chalky dust in its wake
And I pursued
Grasped, and missed
For spaces between fingers, tipsy
from love imbibed
Grasped, and missed
For lack of vision, eerie
from a blind mime
Grasped, and….
it disappeared from the air
Proof it was in my fist
And I began to feel it
Although feeble in its flutter
My hands still pulsated
Painful and tumescent
For knowledge of the gravity,
expanding and collapsing,
of this endeavor
I even began to hear it
Feeble in its plea
“Let me out, please let me out
Set my silk free”
It’s frailty was exhausting
And I grew weary
And resolved to sleep
With him making hurricanes in my room
