Born in Samara, Russia Nelly received her training in directing in St Petersburg where she currently pursues a career in film and theatre.
Director Statement
This film is a big step for myself and for everyone on the crew. We took a lot of risks and there’s a lot at stake here. It’s a very traditional piece in terms of how it interacts with the past (both in terms of social and cinematographic aspects) yet it’s very timely as it touches some very burning issues in our society.
