(Madrid,1982), is a Spanish photographer and videographer.
He attended University and completed a degree in Media Comunications (UEM) and Photography (EFTI) in Madrid.
Between 2010 and 2017 he has been based in Latin and Central America focused on long term projects such as his awarded work in Brazil. His work leans toward a personal approach that moves away from the descriptive narrative tradition in documentary photography.
His photos appeared in publications such as TIME, The New York Times, Der Spiegel, El Pais Semanal, Paris Match, Le Monde, L´Express, De Volkskrant or Gatopardo. His work have been exhibited in the United States, France, Italy, Brasil and Spain.
Rafael is currently working on his first monograph of photography about his work in Brazil.
