At an early age Stephen decided he wanted to work behind the camera and direct. Between 2006 and 2009, he studied Film and TV Production at York St. John.
Upon graduating Stephen, won the Yorkshire Television award for Outstanding Academic Achievement. Soon after, Stephen won a Raindance TV Youtube audience award for The Big Lunch Competition.
Over the next few years, he directed several shorts including Big Al which was nominated for a Golden Trellick at Portobello Film Festival, and Vending which has performed at festivals all around the world. Stephen directed his debut feature film on a micro-budget of £2,500.
Nothing Man is now currently pushing for both distribution and festival screenings.
