Dutchess County (An Early American Tale)
Michael Martin De Sapio

A historical drama inspired by the lives of two early American artists. When his sweetheart’s father urges him to find a “real profession,” struggling writer Washington Irving embarks with his best friend, painter Washington Allston, on an odyssey through the Hudson River country of New York. There Irving finds the inspiration and subject matter for his beloved stories “Rip Van Winkle” and “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” as well as the wisdom that helps him bear the loss of the love of his life.
