Her name “Mircea”, a male first name in Romanian, was chosen by her father as an homage to his favorite professor, Mircea Eliade, at the University of Chicago, where he studied History of the Religions under him.
Attended Virginia Commonwealth University after graduating from high school, but left after two years to act.
