Grieving the loss of his fiancé Josh, Sawyer Guillory, an astute assistant physics professor working in Tennessee, finds himself detached and alone. Alienated and seeking relief from his grief, Sawyer engages in an unlikely bond with the surly and cynical Ron, an older blue collar man, mourning the loss of his daughter.
