An Unexpected Rescue

Mia trembled as she struggled to open the door. Her keys slipped through her shaking fingers onto the ground. At the end of the hallway, moonlight illuminated the outline of a figure moving toward her. Then, the space was filled with light: Kai, the skateboarding angel, appeared. Kai pulled Mia into his arms, and they skated away.
