Flora Cheng has been active throughout her life in composing and performing music. She completed her Bachelor of Music degree in Composition at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She has won numerous awards while she was in studies. Currently, Cheng is the Music Teachers Association of California Lakewood-Cerritos Branch President.
Cheng recently completed a Canadian feature film, “Blue Skies On Mars”, directed by Brian Lutes, and was premiered in Ottawa, Ontario. The music from “Blue Skies On Mars” has recently won Best Score in International Independent Film Awards, New York Film Awards, Cinemafest, Accolade Global Film Competition, Hollywood International Moving Pictures Film Festival, Festigious International Film Festival-Los Angeles, Venezuela, Barcelona, and more. In 2017 Cheng was an additional orchestrator for a Dan Israely film, “Papa” (starring Paul Sorvino, Daryl Hannah and more), and was recorded live in Macedonia.
