[on plastic surgery] Three or four years ago, I would have considered it, but not today. Some people have suggested that I have my chin done, but I’m a singer and it could change my voice. I’m not a model whose survival depends on beauty. My job consists of putting the most emotions into my songs. It might be a stupid thing to say, but when I look at my father, my mother and pictures of my grand-parents, I am proud. I wouldn’t like to change any of that. Just look at Barbra Streisand! Look at her nose! She is beautiful and she doesn’t give a damn about what people think.

I think it bothers people to see people that are happy and successful. So they try to find what’s wrong with them. During my 30 years in show business, I’ve had lots of bad vibes and bad reviews, but between you and me, if that’s bad I can go for another 30, just like that. I’m not losing sleep. To me, the most important thing is the response of people who come to see our shows. They’re telling me to keep going.

I only record songs that touch me in some way, ones that I can relate to.
I’ve always been an ‘open book’ when it comes to my fans. They are so loyal to me and give me such great support that I feel I want to share as much of my life with them as I can. They are part of this journey – a big part!
