Gratitude, Twitter Short Story Movie by Jon Bastian

Watch GRATITUDE – Twitter Short Story:

Get to know writer Jon Bastian:

1. What is your very short story about?

About the final interaction between a man and his dog as the dog is being euthanized.

2. What motivated you to write this story and submit it to the festival?

I lost one of my dogs last September and, as in the story, my last words to her were “Thank you.” I recently read an article about another dog owner whose last words were the same, and it stuck with me. This is probably also one of the few things I’ve written that made me cry while doing so.

3. What movie have you seen the most in your life?

Probably 2001: A Space Odyssey.

4. How many scripts and stories have you written?

I can’t count that high! I’d guess somewhere in the hundreds.

5. What artists would you love to work with?

I’d love to collaborate on a musical with the band OK Go, but mostly I’d love to work with the many actors I know who haven’t already appeared in any of my productions.

6. What is your passion in life?

Writing and dogs.

7. Any tips for other writers who want to write a 140 character short story?

Make every letter count. Eschew verbosity.
