Get to know writer Melissa R. Mendelson:

1) What is your very short story about?

My story is an excerpt from my longer fan fiction series based on SyFy’s hit show, Alphas.

2) What motivated you to write this story and submit it to the festival?

“The Unknown Rider” can stand on her own as a short story or short, short story, and I wanted to give this story a chance to be known to a larger audience.

3) What movie have you seen the most in your life?

I have seen many, many movies in my life, but one that stands out is “Frequency” (2000) with Dennis Quaid and Jim Caviezel.

4) How many scripts and stories have you written?

I have many written and published short stories. I have three novellas self-published on Amazon. I have two complete screenplays that I will be returning to soon.

5) What artists would you love to work with?

Too many come to mind, but some would be Joss Whedon and J.H. Wyman

6) What is your passion in life?

Writing.

7) Any tips for other writers who want to write a 140 character short
story?

Just take a fragment of your writing, play with it, and turn it into something new, something different.
