Get to know poet Buffy Sammons:

1) What is the theme of your poem?

Inspiration that comes from daily life. Until I became sick and started to slow down and breathe in life I have found how blessed I really am and whatever others may feel. Sadness for me is not really what you should feel. I have found my soul mate in life. Have a lot of love that surrounds me every day and was forced to slow down and find life’s inspirations which can be so amazing.

2) How would you like people to respond when they read or watch your
poetry reading?

I would just like an emotion to come from my readers. From anger, sadness, inspiration, love, devotion or even a smile along with a tear, Goosebumps definitely mean I have done something well. If just one reader has an emotion after reading my poetry I feel blessed to have done my job.

3) How long have you been writing poetry?

Since I was about 14/15 on and off but since I became handicapped about 2 years ago I have focused on writing poetry again and painting.

4) Do you have a favorite poet?

Just love good poetry and recently have been looking for my faith again and therefore am searching for lighter poets. When I was younger though Edgar Allen Poet was my inspiration. Now I just love good poems and books. Have a wide genre of books on my shelves.

5) What influenced you to submit to WILDsound and have your poetry performed by a professional actor?

Just wondered upon the site and am working on an inspirational petry book so I thought the extra promotion to authors they give is pretty great.

6) Do you write other works? scripts? Short Stories? Etc..?

I have published 1 short children’s book, have another almost done, but am mainly working on my poetry book now..

7) What is your passion in life?

To live every day as if it were my last and to go out with fireworks when I am called home!
