Watch the Video Pitch for the Novel LOVE REMAINS:
Get to know writer Zrinka Jelic:
1. What is your story about?
A career oriented woman who abolished any hopes for love and family for the sake of climbing another rung up the corporation ladder. By a divine intervention, she finds herself in a marriage with two children and must find her way back to her old live. In doing so she foils a murderous plot of her employer, falls in love with her gorgeous husband and lovely kids. Then the entity who transformed her into this world take it all away and she realizes her old lifestyle was empty.
2. Why should people know this story?
The book delves into the topic of putting career before family. Many of the working women do this to secure their future and don’t believe there’s room in their lives for both. The book sends a message that we should not give up on love.
3. How would you describe this story in just two words?
Can’t escape love (that’s three words but it’s hard to think of only two)
4. What movie have you seen the most in your life?
Gone with the Wind
5. How long have you been working on this story?
From the moment I’ve opened a blank Word doc until the publication, approximately a year.
6. How many stories have you written?
I have four full length novels and one novella published, and two of my short stories and one poem appear in couple of anthologies, I’m almost done writing my next novel and I have one story finished that I like to refer to “training wheels” when I was learning the writing trade secrets and made all of the beginner’s mistakes. I plan to revisit that story and revise then of course publish it.
7. What motivated you to write this story?
The movie “Family Man” It really spoke to me and I wonder what it would be like to have it from a woman’s perspective.
8. Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?
Yoga, fitness, nutrition, animal rescue
9. Any advice or tips you’d like to pass on to other writers?
No matter the stage of your writing career, keep on writing and reading. Things get better and persistence does pay off.
