1. What is your story about?
It’s about what happens to lambs who make the mistake of lying down with lions
2. Why should people know this story?
It warns us what not to do if we want to survive in a predatory world
3. How would you describe this story in just two words?
Soul devastating
4. What movie have you seen the most in your life?
Either Swept Away (Italian version) or Clint Eastwood’s Unforgiven
5. How long have you been working on this story?
It probably took eight months or so to put into novel form, maybe three or four weeks to make a screenplay of it.
6. How many stories have you written?
I’ve written a dozen or so novels and probably twice that many screenplays
7. What motivated you to write this story?
It’s a prismatic view not only of my relationship to my dad but of my son’s relationship to me
8. Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?
Music, either classical or jazz
9. Any advice or tips you’d like to pass on to other writers?
Eventually you want to get to the point where your own good advice is the best you can receive. Till then,
choose very carefully who you emulate. Search out whomever strikes you as your own soul’s counterpart among
the more established writers. Only the very best will do.
