Every morning I wake up
And feel for you
On the other side of my bed…
And I become startled by your absence…
So I
Run to the bathroom
And the kitchen…
Then I
Look towards the closet…
Seeing that
Your side is yet still empty…

It burns deeply within me
Knowing that
You’re no longer with me
That you
Gave up on us so quickly
During our
Rough patch…
All because
He was able to
Sweet talk you out of my arms
In the middle of our
Sour moment…

After all who
Prophesied over us
Touching and agreeing that
God was in the midst of us…
You bailed
Tucked your tail and ran
When I was
More than willing
To work hand in hand
Side by side
Heart to heart with you
To resolve
That which would have been
That…
