Get to know writer Erik Wollschlager:

1) What is your very short story about?

I think the coolest thing about The Alibi is that the backstory is so open ended. It could be told by a jilted lover who can’t be the one to turn you in. Is it a brother who made one last promise: “I’ll throw the cops off of your trail, but don’t ever come back here again.” Maybe it’s a father, who knows it’s better give the cops exactly what they want, but can’t snitch on his son.

2) What motivated you to write this story and submit it to the festival?

A writing blog that I follow on twitter posted the contest, and I thought, “Why not? I write meaningless tweets all of the time, so it seemed silly to pass on this opportunity.
