My Walk
by Barb Peterson

I took a walk one summer day through the land of the
Whispering winds and stone monuments of the past.

Leaves swirled round my feet and the wind whispered in my ear
As I laid my cheek on cold stone

Here there is solitude
Even those beneath my feet sleep
As i breathe in the air above

Here there is a sense of loneliness
Where only the wind and I come.

To walk in harmony with the past
Here i feel at peace with myself.

For one day soon, I know i must go from
Here where only the wind, leaves, and
Someone like you and me come!
