Canada’s fentanyl crisis has struck British Columbia the hardest, with nearly 1,000 overdose deaths counted in 2016 for that province alone. Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside – considered ground-zero of the epidemic – has been left to fend for itself, while they await an expansion of alternative treatment and drug policy reform.
