Feature Film: Only In America by Andrew Garrett

Arty Finkelstein is working multiple jobs to make ends meet for himself and his sick mother in Liberty, NY, in the late 1960s. When Arty’s mother refuses to have an affair with the head of the local draft board, Arty is singled out and whisked off to basic training in South Carolina. Nearly killed by a sadistic Lieutenant, battling small minds, Arty bounces into and out of the military justice system and an insane asylum—with trouble telling which is which. His–and his mother’s–only hope is to gum up the works long enough for justice to prevail.
