Retriever explores the hardships of semi-rural Western Australia. Young farmer Michael receives some disturbing news; there’s been an incident, and he is unwittingly responsible. A six minute short, the film also functions as a cinematographic enquiry into the unconventional aspect ratio of 3.55:1, and investigates its ability to augment the perception of space in film.
