She was in her last year of high school, she had a job in the barista shop down the street from her apartment building and her art. Who could want more? Then a phone call from her grandmother’s doctor changed her entire world.

Lily Gran was no shrinking violet. She was a tough, stubborn, independent Scottish woman who always took care of everything until she’d broken her hip. Enya, Chrissella’s mother, decided they would move to the small town of Melville, Saskatchewan to help Lily Gran with chores until she was back on her feet.
