Matthew Toffolo: What gave you the idea to write this very short story?

Ann G. Avery: My story is based on a work-in-progress screenplay that I started in my screenwriting class last year. I am in the process of re-writing it and haven’t yet decided whether it ought to be short or full-length.

2) How many stories/screenplays have you written?

In 2015 I wrote a short screenplay that won the best short screenplay award at the TeaDance Film Festival in South Carolina. After that, I returned to college and took screenwriting with John Shaw at Santa Barbara City College where I learned some of the finer points of the craft. I have several projects that are incubating which have been temporarily sidelined while I grapple with college algebra.
