Director Biography – Catriona Ni Chadhain (LOVE & FEAR)

Caitríona Ní Chadhain is from Connemara in County Galway, she grew up speaking Irish and is passionate about the importance of keeping the endangered language alive. Caitríona has a background in journalism and is particularly interested in documentary film making. She has spent time working in the media industry in Ireland, Spain & the USA.

Director Statement

There is a decent amount of Irish language content out there, but I’d never seen a film that explores people’s attitudes towards the language, or which questions why so many people are too shy to speak the bit of Irish that they may have, this film makes a start in exploring that topic.
