SUCKR FOR LOVE was the winner of BEST FILM at the October 2019 Experimental/Dance/Music Festival in Toronto.
Matthew Toffolo: What motivated you to make this film?
Nathalie Kraemer: Originally I needed a music video for my next song release that wouldn’t cost a fortune and include many cast and crew. So I decided to make an animation in a very specific style that I wanted to do a long time ago and which also served as an homage to German film maker Lotte Reiniger from the 1920’s. It was important to me to create something meaningful and socio-critical as well.
2. From the idea to the finished product, how long did it take for you to make this short?
From research at the Film museum in Duesseldorf to concept, storyboarding, production and completion it took me about 4 months.
3. How would you describe your short film in two words!?
