The moments in Honeyland that stay (stick?) with me are the small, happy ones: Hatidze coloring her hair, or cheerleading a backyard wrestling match between the boys next door, or finding “You are So Beautiful,” almost miraculously, on her makeshift radio. Life’s joys, revealed when we lower the defenses we prepare for our intruders.
