Experimental Film & Music Video Festival

Ec87eb416c posterA global collaboration between artists in quarantine. The poem written by London based poet, musician, and actor Shay Khan and the performance art by Najah Rizvi of Amman, Jordan were a reflection from each artist and their respective places within South Asian diaspora. The composition by Turkish musician and composer Duygu Demir was written with the idea that though many are familiar with the idea of inequality, no one acts against it. The archival research and edit was conducted by South Asian-American filmmaker and artist Samia Zaidi based in Los Angeles. The piece is predominantly constructed from newsreels filmed by the British military during their occupation in South Asia as well as capitalist propaganda pieces, all of which were available in the public domain.
