Short Film: HAMDA, 13min., Hungary, Documentary

Documentary Film Festival. Los Angeles & Toronto

Formula 1 is one of the few sports in the world that allows women to line up and compete against men. The film follows the story of Hamda, a 17 year old strong and determined young Emirati Formula 4 race car driver, and her journey.

Time slows down and almost stops in the middle of a race. But what time needs to be sacrificed to achieve this? Racing is not only her passion but is a shared passion in her family. Does that mean her passion and her family time overlaps? The film explores the themes of family, sisterhood, following one’s passion, sacrifices, self-expression and nationhood.
