The Beats of Nomads, 3min., China
Directed by Jing JI, Guanzhen GAO
The Beats of Nomads is an experimental short film that explores spiritual drifting and identity uncertainty in a world, where belief systems have lost their cohesion. Rather than depicting nomadism as a form of geographic movement, the film approaches it as a psychic condition, a state of being compelled to move without the promise of a certain destination.Structured through three non-linear chapters (Horse, Braid, and God).
