A man in his 70s travels by train, next to a lady of a similar age. During the trip, he tries to seduce her in a courteous manner. She receives his autumnal flirtations patiently, sometimes amused, or with a thrill or tears in her eyes. The train reaches its destination and the story takes an unexpected turn.
