UNDER THE TABLE, 20min., Philippines
Directed by BRANDEN JOSH City National High School Special Program in the DOMINGO
Jules, a troubled student on the brink of failure, is given a final chance to graduate through a documentary project on government transparency. He is paired with Aedan, a media-savvy honor student whose discipline and worldview sharply contrast with Jules’s rebellious nature. As they work together on the project, tension gradually gives way to understanding. What begins as an academic requirement leads them to uncover troubling patterns in local infrastructure projects and to confront truths they have long ignored. In the process, Jules’s world slowly opens up, and a quiet bond forms between them. In time, the project becomes more than just an assignment—it becomes a space for truth, courage, and unspoken emotions.
