Genre: Relationship, Love
Sacred
by Patsy Jawo
When you left I thought it was for good
Now I know you reside in my heart
On your anniversary I always sulked
Now I choose to wear bright colours
How dare I be so selfish?
Where was my gratitude?
I spent two years in a mental flood
Because of my own lack of control
I cried and begged for you to stay with me
I let others lead me
Not knowing all along you carried me
Indulged me and awaited my understanding
I was so hung up on losing you
I forgot to celebrate the great times we shared
I always knew there was a reason for you in my life
Little did I know I would have you only for seasons
You are my reason to smash my goals
Over and over, one by one, I smash them
Now I realise they were your goals too
That they are our goals
For we are connected for an eternity
By universal ties beyond standard minds
Your lessons guide me daily
Forever showing me the way
You are an integral part of me
So how could I miss you?
You taught me love
Not just of others, but love of Self
Love of life and a love of living
Fulfilled humility and giving
The answers to those nagging questions
Are now that I love you, not loved you
I have a blessing in you
How did I ever miss that lesson?
My gratitude is never ending
Ever present and ever constant
I have begun anew
Led by the universal spirit
To heights of the abundance, wealth and success
We always knew we would achieve
My faith is unshakable
My purpose steadfast
The vision crystal clear
The time is NOW
The certainty in my heart now rules
I am a free spirit, free to give
Receive, share and enjoy love in abundance
Yours included
Thank you for your kind and virtuous nature
For your love drives and inspires me
Welcome to our empire
I trust you love it
Here’s to many more years
Of our celebrated love, success and gratitude
