The Getaway
by Christopher Fortner

A closed mind fully opens up
Keep walkin,
Im not counting steps
Ill never turn back for a glimpse
The blinding fluorescent snow makes sure of it
It illuminates like blue & red
A nuisance in my mirror, distancing myself to seek enriched freedom
Where a breeze so subtle & gentle
Is Whispering to only my conscience
Catering my happiness
As if It was the clouds sifting through my toes & not the mocha colored sand
Keeping me wedged between the Atlantics easy going memoir
Stories of the infinite in which she glides to shore
Alleviating any & all implications of doubt
Doubt, which you can create
& so My sun screams not for attention
Simply rays bending backwards lending hands of guidance
To ensure all is gained for a fresh outlook
An outlook as open as the blue sea
Never closing again, oh the convenience of looseleaf.
