My Cathartic Heel
by A.C.B.

In weary sentence and weathered scripture,
two still listen to what is mine and expressed,
the Theatre, empty, and free to see picture,
but not to hear meaning, none to be impressed.

The stressed marrow made hallow; numbly tranquil
like the once blue blood that boiled.
Gray are the matters of this uncapped, madder sort of a mad hatter–coiled, and toiled with.

To fall on the listeners of what is hers and expressed,
perhaps just to be heard, or understood at best.
But the twilight holds its show, even still as heads lay low,
not to give way to what is cumbersome,
tis the sum of them all under slumber, but one….

Should one listen now, be my image–uncovered…

Be unveiled; make cathartic my wavering heel and my purging spirit,
seige the poor pores of a heart ripped and torn, archers take aim at this heel and spear it!
Give color to the matter- the grey matter, that which fractured the structure that upholds my rueful tatters.

SKIES ABOVE SYRIA
by HABIB AKEWUSOLA

Same crew,
Unknown airspace.

islamick crisis state
Misplaced enveloped craze.

Publicity publishes reports,
Editorial tributes
Dry ink cups.

Suspicious presidential price,
Justice evade hidden paradise.

Expensive peace,
Planting gas on protesting waters.
Reveling of truth,
Closely intermediate to conflict.

Let’s leave together,
You doubt uncertainty,
Rockets wouldn’t kill, if
Hostages deal,
But man melts steel.

Mass grave,
Hours ago, city was lively.
Six in threes,
Execution upon a time
Earth,

Coding parliamentary pledge,
Temporarily spoilt clock,
Little wire and tread,
Strap two batteries
Around her neck
Sprinkle black dust,
Bang !!!!
Bang!!!
Improvised death.

After researching catalyst,
Reality can’t sleep.

the edge of it
by Bryan Byrd

I stand at the edge of it
At the edge of it all
I stand in spite of it
In spite of all it all

No longer fighting it
No longer free from it
Always fleeing it
Never seeing it

When will I fall from it
What will they call it
How will it change me
What will they say

In spite of it all

WEAK END, Poetry by HABIB AKEWUSOLA

Genre: Rhyme, Society

WEAK END
by HABIB AKEWUSOLA

Kill fear, bury her in
Thy tinny chest,
Lyrics of bravery,
Dancing to work daily.

Campaign leaks pay,
Popping bubbles cause
A perfect friday.

Age is my pride
On the days that I climb

Pain is a sign
Soul isn't for man.
So,
Man the good,
Tame the evil.

You can't read love
Leadership is worse,
But,
Wire connects a new world.

Rename fear into strength
Remain friends with respect,
Keep humility close to thy chest,
Decency must label your dress.

Prosperity will call me next.

A Night on The Town Of Paris:
by Emaglaw

Fall down, lay low and pray,
The delay of the crowd is blinding.
Fall down, lay low and pray,
Realized fear is now arising,
Fall down, lay-low and pray,
My God the Blood is Spraying.
Fall down, lay-low and pray,
The delay, to Reload, was temporary.
Fall down, no need, we lay,
Like birds we flocked together.
Be still, don’t move, they’ll see,
oh God please here our plea.
Cry out, don’t shoot, don’t kill,
Deaths release is now upon thee.

Star Attraction, Poetry by Agata Zema

Genre: Romance, Rhyme

Star Attraction
by Agata Zema

The room I enter
Is full of people
Flushed from too much
Wine and laughter
Flirting, teasing, hoping
Wishing
For more
Of their fantasies
To become
Reality
Here and now
A new beginning
Adventure
A fling
Or maybe something
More substantial
Raising the stakes
Devotion
Loyalty
Even commitment
Of sorts
Traditional or contemporary
Standards
Anything

A broken heart
Can be mended
An empty one
Yearns
Mourns
Atrophies
Losing
The capability
To feel and be felt
Heal and to soar
Rise above
Unruly encounters
Lack of connection
No chemistry relations

I slowly walk around the room
Circling from left to right
Keeping my head raised
With no eye contact
To start a cat fight
I get into a rhythm of being
Ok about being here
My first time and feel
A little guarded
Four times as many females
Than males
They all watch
I keep walking
Pretending I am confident
I am
In a way
I know for sure
That if I stop this
Pretend mingling
I will attract
A wall flower
And there goes the whole night
Wall flowers are like
Araldite

I am drawn to a wonderful fragrance
It stirs me
Inspires me
Motivates me to
Scan the room
In hope she stands out
Somehow
I look and look
Causing lots of unwanted attention
But
I am
On a
Quest
To
Search and seek
This wonderful person
Beautifully fragranced
To distract me
From
The freedom of being
Single
There goes my
Ample head and heart space
She has gripped me so simply
So daringly unaware

The fragrance gets stronger
As I near the rear of the room
I dismiss the attentions from
Attractive women
Carefully dressed
And accessorised
To accentuate
Legs, long necks, flawless skin
D├ęcolletages, narrow limbs, small ears
Sparkling eyes, dark lashes, red lips
Painted toenails
Silky hair
Even tapering, long, delicate fingers
I noticed
As I begin to storm past the last
Mob of people
Hanging around the back door

That must be her
The fragrance is heady
Dizzying
I smile and say hello
To her
She turns to me
And looks for a moment
Maybe reading my mind
Or rewriting it
Well hello to you too
She replies

Her voice I forget
Almost immediately
Because in that instant
I notice
The creeping Jasmine
Tying love knots
All over the back veranda rails

Ha
I burst out
Walk out
Through the open door
Into
The night

Let me guess
Your name is Miss Star Jasmine
What a truly unexpected surprise

Power
by Verletta Kyer

As a woman of God the enemy hates to see you grow.

He doesn’t like your victory and neither the spiritual flow.

Power is given to the swift and the strong.

Power is given to those that are racing towards God’s throne.

Many are reaching and leaping high for life eternity.

Power will cause you to forget about everything else and walk into your destiny.

Power to the people upward and down.

Power will cause you to put God first for level ground.

Power can go many ways.

Never forget Jesus paved the way for a brighter day.

Power gave us a brother from another mother.

Power to risk His life and in three days rose there’s no other.

If you’ve been given power for eternal life.

Hold on because Jesus already won the fight.
