Get to know writer Ann Marie McDermott:

1) What is your very short story about?

It is about loss. Whether it is physically, mentally or emotionally.
It is something we all, at some point, have to face.

2) What motivated you to write this story and submit it to the festival?

What motivated me was the challenge. Never having done it before, I wanted to see if I could write such a short story.

3) What movie have you seen the most in your life?

Oh dear. This is a hard one. I think, I would have to go with ‘Some like it hot.’

4) How many scripts and stories have you written?

I have written two scripts and I’m currently writing one now. Finished one novel, writing the second and a third which are still in their infancy.

5) What artists would you love to work with?

Jane Goldman, Joss Whedon, Danny Boyle. The list goes on.

6) What is your passion in life?

My children and Writing.

7) Any tips for other writers who want to write a 140 character short
story?

Write it, then write it again and again. Don’t get frustrated. You can do it.
