Run, Twitter Short Story by Rosa Pace

Watch RUN, Twitter Short Story:

Get to know writer Rosa Pace:

1) What is your very short story about?

My short story is about striving forward. We all have our own key to the world, we just need to run and get away from all of those trying to tell you that you aren’t good enough, that your “key” won’t fit. In short my story describes that we always have a shadow over us, that omen that makes us think we’re not good enough, not strong enough. But if we keep on running that omen doesn’t have to always hang over our heads.

2) What motivated you to write this story and submit it to the festival?

My motivation to write and submit my story was my difficulty during my junior year of high school. I am also a filmmaker and trying to be a good academic student. I felt that both sides of myself were falling apart, that I was hardly anything of the person I thought I was. I had it in my mind I was a terrible filmmaker and writer. I fought to move from this though. Writing this little 140 character story was a sort of motivation for me. I needed and I believe it helped me for the better.

3) What movie have you seen the most in your life?

I would have to say I’ve seen Inglourious Basterds or Django Unchained the most. I love Quentin Tarantino and his films are a big inspiration to me as a young filmmaker.

4) How many scripts and stories have you written?

I have written countless amounts of stories, in my time as a film student I have also written many scripts.

5) What artists would you love to work with?

Which artist would i love to work with? Ah well I could list directors and actors, people who have really motivated me and ones I have admired. To really name a few I would say Quentin Tarantino, Christoph Waltz, Thomas Kretschmann, and lastly Ralph Fiennes.

6) What is your passion in life?

My passion, or passions in life are writing, history and filmmaking. Each of these make up an integral part of me that I would be incomplete without.

7) Any tips for other writers who want to write a 140 character short story?

Tips for other wanting to write a 140 character story, I would say don’t focus on the character count. Just think of something that is important to you or something you love. Anything you feel a passion or strong emotion for. That’s what I did, I took my inner turmoil and turned it into a 140 character story. I think it would be great for others to do this because in such a limited amount of space you can learn to make something truly meaningful.
