Genre: Death, Pain
Name Sealed Not
by Maimuna Muhammad Babangida.
Name Sealed Not!
Pendulous swing of a burdened mind,
Years gone by with these thoughts,
Courage deserted this lonely heart.
Let the pen dance,
Let the pain pass.
“I think I’m dying!”
you whispered to me softly,
Sounded like Child’s play.
Narrow the thinking was then,
“Come Quick!”
Mouths opened wide, words trapped!
Saw the world ascending through your eyes,
Blank the world turned
Crumbling under your feet.
Eyes, clouded.
Smiles, vanished.
Lips, sealed.
Tears, rushed.
With misty eyes flying.
You are no more!
Sad echoes of a lonely heart,
You bow out with crowded questions,
answered not!
Fresh wounds, healed not.
Are you truly gone?
Can this sad heart be healed?
Tears flow with every breath taken,
Mouths speak mute
Let the pain pass
You faded away so soon
But Your Name Sealed Not!
