The Party
by Patsy Jawo

I am excited at this party called life
It is like a live wire and I the electrician
I could be in trouble if I don’t do it right
It could be the party of my life if I nail it
I don’t wanna spend most of my life doing stuff I should
I want to be on the edge, ready to rock, knowing I could get caught
What’s the worse that would happen? No seriously!
All this fear, I am fed up with it all and it being maximised to take full advantage
It’s time to rock this party and have much fun in the process
I am a ticking bomb and have exploded hence having a blast
I am always doing the right thing so I don’t worry about consequences
I am feeling humorous is why I’m laughing out loud
Music a part of my salvation is why I’m singing this song
Apart from seemingly getting it wrong, what else is there?
And I don’t listen to dream stealers who always seem to know right from wrong
I am my destiny so no one needs to watch this space, it is all mine
So when it comes to crimes and doing time, let me take my chances
I like to dance and don’t even mind some Red Indian chants, how lovely
Much better than the times I rant with no specific aim and
I’m still no further forward
Let’s party all life, blow the speakers, be daring and not cowards of any kind
As we get to leave sometime let’s make a point to entertain as well as enjoy the show
