WILDsound FEEDBACK TORONTO FILM FESTIVAL
Highlights from the Thursday September 29, 2016 event.
Documentary and Comedy generally do not mix – especially in a film festival screening. This month was a experimentation in programming. We began the festival with three excellent documentary short films that have gotten into every festival they have submitted to. And we ended on three comedy shorts that were polarizing to all.
The theme of the Documentary/Comedy Festival was “Overcoming external conflicts”.
We were excited to showcase our first FAN FICTION short film at the festival. A sequel to the Back to the Future films. This was one of those films where you had to think “4th dimensionally” as the iconic cast of Michael J. Fox and Christophr Lloyd were replaced.
We also were excited to show a “Student Film” from the United States about a Vice Principal having a bad day. We also plan to showcase more student films at our festival at our future events.
The standout films were definitely the documentary shorts. All three films received multiple votes for “Best Film” at the festival.
The SEPTEMBER 2016 Festival was a major success. There wasn’t an empty seat in the cinema and the audience was very engaged during the feedback portion of the festival. Click the posters, learn about the films, and watch the Audience Feedback Videos.
