Director Biography – Savvas Stavrou

Savvas Stavrou is a director based in London and graduate of the University of Westminster and Skillset’s Diversity in Visual Arts Fellowship. His short films SONG TO THE SIREN, DOROTHEA and INTERLUDE have screened internationally at festivals, with the latter having won the Sci-Fi London Festival’s 48 Hour Film Challenge for Best Short. As a music video director, his work for artist Metaxas was pinned by Promo News amidst the likes of Massive Attack and Florence + the Machine. SIRENS won the Best Music Video award at Aesthetica Film Festival in 2017. Alongside his own projects, Savvas has trained with the BFI Film Fund, worked in development and production at Focus Features, and also as assistant and production supervisor to acclaimed director Michael Winterbottom and producer Andrew Eaton.
