Lena Groves is an award winning writer and director that specializes in films that give people a voice. After serving in Uganda she was inspired to educate people about the kinds of things that go on in the world that people would rather turn around and forget. She has made documentaries giving voices to the immigrant communities in Upstate NY, victims of female genital mutilation in The Gambia, and migrants learning English literacy in Dublin, Ireland. Through her films she hopes to inspire people that small gestures can have the largest impacts and to stand up for what is right, even in the smallest of ways.
