Matthew Toffolo interviews writer Carl A. Chase:

What is your story about?

Carl: The story is really two. The 1st story is about a private Investigator in the nineteen eighties names James Harper. But when ever he falls asleep he dreams that it in 1946. And he is a private eye named Jack Spade working in San Francisco. Spade is working on a missing person case. A young Socialite has turned up missing reported by her husband. A wealthy businessman named Tom Jefferson.

Why do people need to read/watch this story?

Carl: Because it is Original, exciting, fast pace. With some fun and plenty of Mystery.

How long have you been writing stories?

Carl: Well it first started in my teens, and early twenties, when I first got out of the army I wrote a short story called Davy Jones:Heavyweight Champion of the World. But I never finished it. once I retired from the Government I decided to finish the book.

What movie have you seen the most in your life?

Carl: That’s a hard one, I’m some what of a movie buff, So I have seen a lot. Especially the old B/W ones. The Hustler: with Paul Newman

What artists would you love to work with?

Carl: Work with? You mean like acting? I’m not an Actor! but if I were I guess Halle Berry!

How many stories have you written?

Carl: Three,

Ideally, where would you like to be in 5 years?

Carl: A successful Author.

Describe your process; do you have a set routine, method for writing?

Carl: No I wouldn’t say a had a set routine: I just think about what I want to write about and do it. It all depends on what genre I want to be known for. And right now I have not made up my mind about that. My first story was Drama and Adventure, this one was mystery and crime, my current one is Mystery and crime with a little Horror.

Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?

Carl: Family, sports and making love(smile)

What influenced you to enter the WILDsound Festival?

Carl: Exposure.

Any advice or tips you’d like to pass on to other writers?

Carl: Advice or tips: All I can say is never stop believing in yourself, No matter what some credit might say, if its truly in your blood to tell a story don’t stop.
