Get to know writer Cameron Donnelly:

1. What is your very short story about?

My story is one that all men and women alike have faced: an awkward situation. A situation you want everything to go right, but life chooses everything to go wrong.

2. What motivated you to write this story and submit it to the festival?

I thought the contest sounded extremely interesting and I wanted to take part in the challenge of painting a picture on a tiny canvas.

3. What movie have you seen the most in your life?

The movie I have seen the most in my life is honestly probably Signs. Odd choice, but I love the twist at the end and the set up of that movie is incredible.

4. How many scripts and stories have you written?

I have wrote about 4 pilots, a couple spec scripts, and am working on my first movie currently.

5. What artists would you love to work with?

I would love to work with Steve Carrell. The Office was my favorite show when it was on, and the writing of that show led me down my path of writing. Also, Michael Cera’s facial cues are second to none and I would very much enjoy writing for him.

6. What is your passion in life?

My passion is certainly writing. I’m only 23 years old so I hope I can eventually hone my craft and make this my career. I am also an avid fisherman.

7. Any tips for other writers who want to write a 140 character short story?

My key to writing this short story was to make it have a first, second, and third act. The first sentence being the set up, the second being the meat, and the third sentence the punch line.
