I LIVE IN THE PRESENT
by Ehi Mary Okwechime
I have a dream
Its thought lightens my heart
Waking each day to its fulfillment
Brings joy without bounds.
The hand of fate twisted my plans
But quitters never succeed
I held on.
Fate brought me to Excellence
The life time of Jesus
Gave a second view
The Transit made it clear.
Reminded to pen down
The dream in telescope
Now, I wake each day
Just to live
The escapist way attractive
The dream was only a dream
Once!
There was a perfect future
Now future is what will be seen
Dream washed away by waves.
One asked, are you afraid
Of the future? No!
Am afraid of the present
Because, it brings the future.
I live in the present
I am scared to death.
