Ground Zero
by, Melissa R. Mendelson

The subway rocks me asleep,
and I forget.
The city streets shake with noise,
and a million footsteps thunder
against concrete.
And I become lost.
Time ticks by,
and everyone is on schedule.
Nothing breaks their routine,
but I pause.
I stop to remember
what took place
so long ago,
and I see yesterday
standing there
with tears falling against darkness.
And I remember the wave of emotion
that gripped me,
that threatened to drown me,
but I rode those waves
with my pen.
And the city became alive once more,
and we walk a million moments
of our lives,
alive.
But do we still remember,
or is it easy to
forget?

Power, Poetry by Verletta Kyer

Power
by Verletta Kyer

As a woman of God the enemy hates to see you grow.

He doesn’t like your victory and neither the spiritual flow.

Power is given to the swift and the strong.

Power is given to those that are racing towards God’s throne.

Many are reaching and leaping high for life eternity.

Power will cause you to forget about everything else and walk into your destiny.

Power to the people upward and down.

Power will cause you to put God first for level ground.

Power can go many ways.

Never forget Jesus paved the way for a brighter day.

Power gave us a brother from another mother.

Power to risk His life and in three days rose there’s no other.

If you’ve been given power for eternal life.

Hold on because Jesus already won the fight.

I Wil Hold My Pen To Bed, Poetry by Ibrahim Olalere

I Wil Hold My Pen To Bed
By Ibrahim Olalere

I will hold my pen to bed
When the day comes with no words for poetry
I will dream of our infant voices
as mother warns us to quit the dashes
Yet we will run into to the kitchen
Hiding and seeking
Happy and smiling

That I may wake and forget
the nice warm memories of once upon a time
When we played childishly
’cause we were truly children
I shall dream of them
Even if they are now dusty voices

A paper on my chest,
And a pen on my right
While I layed in bed
I had penned a poem before that goes thus ;
“I dreamt of our infant voices
As mother warned us to quit the dashes
Yet,we ran into the kitchen
Hiding and seeking,
Happy and smiling”

MAJORITY, Poetry by SANIJELA MATKOVIĆ

Genre: Spiritual, Dream, Inspirational

MAJORITY
by SANIJELA MATKOVIĆ

It was raining, although the announced wind.

Regardless of the insensitive time, dreams are still

were declared clear.

One name, one address, one look …

Perhaps it would be enough, and half of the verse

for some,

at least a half-hearted beginning of the story,

that began less than eighteen years.

Yes,

an entire majority stood in the heart.

Waiting for you spring,

that reality boldly and pollinate flowers

joy.

Can you ever go back …

From this view,

of this now.

Backwards eighteen summers

and even more of printed collections of songs that were inadvertently

went into the wind.

Well, not disappeared.

The canopy memories hide them in their secret

compartments,

for a time better than yesterday.

Can a first kiss,

love at last look,

the first handshake,

unjedriti hugs fangs years.

Perhaps,

somewhere,

However,

There is a clock that returns time yesterday

subtle and it combines with this now !?

This reflection is not a hypothesis, a thesis is even less.

The story is about this one dream.

About regard,

which lasted a whole age of majority.

I LIVE IN THE PRESENT, Poetry by Ehi Mary Okwechime

I LIVE IN THE PRESENT

by Ehi Mary Okwechime

I have a dream

Its thought lightens my heart

Waking each day to its fulfillment

Brings joy without bounds.

The hand of fate twisted my plans

But quitters never succeed

I held on.

Fate brought me to Excellence

The life time of Jesus

Gave a second view

The Transit made it clear.

Reminded to pen down

The dream in telescope

Now, I wake each day

Just to live

The escapist way attractive

The dream was only a dream

Once!

There was a perfect future

Now future is what will be seen

Dream washed away by waves.

One asked, are you afraid

Of the future? No!

Am afraid of the present

Because, it brings the future.

I live in the present

I am scared to death.

L’Abyrinth, Poetry by Greg Fanning

Genre: Philosophical, Spiritual, Mythic, Personal

L’Abyrinth
by Greg Fanning

’tis but a simple leap of faith
‘tween
Hesitant ….. and Patient
still, he is inexorably drawn to
….. Insistent

A perfect aureole of kindled torches
vulnerable thru an onliest entry
nay, not vulnerable ….. inviting

Ingress, as it should be …..
as Fate …..
….. might decree

Simpler than expected
yet paradoxically
breathtakingly intricate …..

No two steps will align his future
No one step will alter his past
Yet every resolute stride
leads to ….. Moirai

No random soliloquies exist, save …..
a Weaver who clothes each soul
a Surveyor who lengthens every soul
a Cutter who defines all souls

yet Fate Herself
drafts our impulsive life chronicles
traced with sweeping, luminous ink
upon crinkled, ancient papyrus scrolls
layering depth beyond what parchment can retain …..

The deeper her scrawls …..
….. the richer our journeys …..

All reliant upon Her own practical whimsy

Chartres beckons …..
offering the possibility of …..

rediscovery insight clarity
purpose realignment
meaning awakening closure

Whilst crossing the threshold
His first thoughts emerge
….. and from so long ago …..

When does patience ….. become denial?
When does denial ….. become patience?

Curves necessitate balance …..
Equilibrium of breaths and pace …..
Symmetry of chance and choice …..
Walk the L’Abyrinth …..

Seeking the visible centre
so alluringly ….. adjacent
so curiously ….. afar
so wonderfully ….. accurate

….. Namaste …..

A single, sole man
entered a labyrinth

But emanating
from this L’Abyrinth
is someone quite different …..

A solitary, Dragon Soul
has emerged …..

Traveller …..

ONE STEP, Poetry by MORCA

Genre: Spiritual, Society

ONE STEP
by
MORCA

From love to hate, one step

from hate to love, a thousand leagues.

From friend to enemy, one step

from enemy to friend, a thousand years.

From embryo to life, nine months

from life to death, one bullet.

From good man to bad man, one step

from bad man to good man, one eternity.

From ignorant to wise, one life

from wise to ignorant, one second.

From sun rise to sun set, one day

from sun set to sun rise, one dream.

from zero to ten, nine

from ten to zero, one.

From freedom to prisoner, one decision

from prisoner to freedom, never.

From God to the Devil, one step

from the Devil to God, ALWAYS.
