One Woman
by TS Willis
Who am I
that You
would think so kindly toward me
that You
would cradle me
and call me Daughter
when
i am but one Woman –
one Life
one Heart
one Love
I hear your sweet whisperings gentle soughing sighs
through the leaves overhead
in the chirring rhythms
of the crickets
chittering squirrels
in the calls and cries
of the birds in the branches
marvel at mysteries and visions
in the roiling clouds as they pass
and
I am struck dumb for the moment –
overcome
eyes and Spirit
flooded with gratitude
unashamedly laid low
in humility and wonder
Sweet Earth
You are my Mother
I lift my hands
my smoke
my song
in your honor
I am yours I am yours I am yours…
one Woman
one Life
one Heart
one Love
