Roof Top, Poetry by Patsy Jawo

Genre: Nature, Life

Roof Top
by Patsy Jawo

Get it on the roof top
Otherwise you lose out
The Emerald green grass
Fertile and healing
Grows healthy crops
Sunshine adds its mass
Moonlight coats with finesse
Rain does the nourishment
So get those talents out
Let their rein be visible
The veins of creativity
Will never lie still
And it is not our place
To shut out the light
By closing the drapes
But to wallow in it
The rays of greatness
Let them colour our skin
Tan our minds and soul
Then show off our new look
Gift it to the world
People, places, things
Revel in the sketch
Drawn on the easel
Our life’s blank canvas
Love it, love ourselves
Get on the roof top
Sprinkle our rainbows
Keep all lives shaded
With our unique blend
Of flavours and tastes
A collective blend
Formed from every being
Radiating bright
Illuminating all
Reaching all corners
Spreading good waves
Into every cave
Plus hearts, minds, spirits
And never stopping
Whatever the case
This is our set place
Atop evermore roof
With feverish offerings
Spine tingling showers
Of mystic ventures

The First Downpour, Poetry by J K Roseline

The First Downpour
by J K Roseline

The wind was snarling
At my door all night,
Romancing with rain;
Mystic nature divine
Rejoicing with delight

The first downpour is waving down
Parched earth, she gulps the limpid drops;
It titillates her senses with acuity,
Like burning incense earth emits
Sweet fragrance in the odorous air.

The glorious Sun now veiled beneath the misty sheen,
Peeps to see little brooks gurgling again;
Lonesome rambling streams soon flow,
They spurt to kiss the dancing leaves.

Listen to rain’s resonating beat –
A sound so rhapsodizing be;
To taste the cascading drops
Come croaking frogs, burrowing worms.

The rainbow filters through turbid sky,
Peacocks perch to preen pretty plumes dry;
A lovely lament radiant fall
Sing o heavens, be joyful all.

For this downpour from yonder,
On this yielding union on earth
When the sky roars clothed in black robes,
And the earth is waiting coyly.

Flowers bloom in winter
by Cathrina Oshinowo

Flowers bloom in Winter, spring, Summer and Autumn too.

They bloom and spring forth for me you. Flowers show me ĺove In boom and tell me not to cry.

Flowers speak to my heart and tell my dreams never to die..

The flowers I hold dear cause my to flame to grow inside.

They mirror my beauty from beginning to end; never fading peptualy being my little friends.

Rain, Poetry by James Kennon

Rain
by James Kennon

Rain falls like terminal dodo birds liquefied by infinite speed,
gravity plunges one way, directional confusion of enveloping skins, wave upon wave etc…

Circular chitterings of gnomish crazy-eyed beaks,
quills loaded with thick black syrupy information encrypted into dazzling streaks of digital flight,
through iron pellets and streaking beams of displacing squareness that leave gaping holes in reverse images frozen with surprise.

Wetness brings cures for dryness, visions of self reflected in falling drops show the multitudes of one, bringing joy in wetness all things are covered,
old brains,
wear plastic yellow sheets that hum rain into piercing darts, splinters.

How did I think I could see the rain eye to eye without falling?

One Woman
by TS Willis

Who am I
that You
would think so kindly toward me

that You
would cradle me
and call me Daughter

when
i am but one Woman –

one Life
one Heart
one Love

I hear your sweet whisperings gentle soughing sighs
through the leaves overhead
in the chirring rhythms
of the crickets
chittering squirrels
in the calls and cries
of the birds in the branches

marvel at mysteries and visions
in the roiling clouds as they pass

and

I am struck dumb for the moment –

overcome

eyes and Spirit
flooded with gratitude

unashamedly laid low
in humility and wonder

Sweet Earth
You are my Mother

I lift my hands
my smoke
my song
in your honor

I am yours I am yours I am yours…

one Woman

one Life
one Heart
one Love
